At a joint Board meeting held on May 16th, 1998, the merger between the Orange Coast Squares and the Lariats was ratified. By choosing the Orange Coast Lariats as our name, we have retained a portion of each club's identity. In 1998, the Lariats celebrated their 40th Anniversary in October and the Orange Coast Squares celebrated their 17th in April.
Our New Dancer Programs start just once a year, on the 1st or 2nd Wednesday of September . As one of twenty-three clubs in District 3, we actively support our A-Square-D Association.
Member activities include picnics, barbeques, hayrides, beach parties, baseball games, a 4th of July cul de sac party, Christmas party, and group travel to out-of-town week-end dances and jamborees.

Visitations
We believe an active, enthusiastic visitation program is essential for the general welfare of Square Dancing and the health of individual clubs. The Orange Coast Lariats maintain a very active visitation program, awarding our banner to any club attending our dances with two or more squares. We schedule at least two visitations a month (usually three), for both retrieval of our own banners and the capture of other club banners.
We try to schedule at least one bus visitation trip per year, well outside our local area, and welcome bus visitations from other clubs. We make every effort to provide a special evening for visiting clubs.
Although it is not essential, it works out for the best if visiting clubs notify us when a visitation is planned. Any e-mail received relative to visitations will be passed on to our Chairpersons.
