Where & When We Dance

Our 2nd Saturday club dance is held in the new, larger hall at the Cedarbrook Dance Center, 12812 Garden Grove Blvd. in Garden Grove. Wood floors, air conditioning and great sound. Along with our friendship and hospitality, what more could you ask for?

Round dancing starts at 7:30 with Bev Oren on even months and Eileen Silvia on odd months. There are two round dances between each square dance tip throughout the evening with a good mix between phase II, III and lV.

Square dancing starts at 8:00 with guest callers. We like to think Southern California has some of the best callers in the world. We mix national callers in with our exceptional local callers. Come dance and let us know what you think.

We dance at the plus level. There is an A-1 star tip at break. We have an active singles rotaion and it is working well.

The Orange Coast Lariats provide Associate Membership status to members of our New Dancer Program. If they wish to join our club, they enjoy full membership privileges with only two exceptions. They do not attend our plus dances until they graduate and they continue to donate the new dancer amount each class evening. Other than that, they vote, can wear the club dress, have club badges with "associate" hangers, and receive the club newsletter. We hope the increased sense of belonging and participation will improve the retention of new dancers in our activity.

The Orange Coast Lariats sponsor one class per year, running from September through May. Go to our New Dancer Program page, and call or e-mail us for additional information.

While visiting Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal Studios, the ocean, mountains or desert, come dance with us. The Orange Coast Lariats welcome visitors with and warm hugs. Come sample our Southern California hospitality.

Singles Rotation is available at all of our dances. We have been making it work quite effectively by asking each of our male members to participate for at least one tip. Single men and women have found our dances to be a pleasant experience.

If you are making plans ahead of time, e-mail us at fcoller@socal.rr.com or call, and we will respond to all your questions, comments and concerns.
